John Harvan started with Hospice of the Western Reserve in 1992 as Director of Finance and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2001. He is responsible for all accounting and finance functions of the organization, including financial reporting, budgeting, and banking relationships; and general business operations. He was previously Vice President of Finance for University MEDNET, a 110-physician multi-specialty group practice, and prior to that, a manager at Price Waterhouse & Co.
Mr. Harvan is very involved with organizations that advocate for end-of-life issues. He is a member of the National Hospice & Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), and he has served as its Finance and Information Systems’ Section Chair. Mr. Harvan serves on the Midwest Care Alliance (MCA) Finance Committee. In addition, he is a member of the National Hospice Work Group (NHWG) CFO Forum, as well as Hospice of the Western Reserve’s alternated representative to the Hospice Alliance of Ohio.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Mr. Harvan resides in Walton Hills with his wife, Kathy and three sons.
