The Plain Dealer
In response to the Sept. 6 story about MetroHealth Medical Center’s No One Dies Alone volunteer program, I just wanted to let readers know that Hospice of the Western Reserve always has someone with transitioning patients. It is an honor and a privilege to be included in the last days and hours of their lives.
The article implied that this is a new protocol. But Hospice of the Western Reserve has had volunteers doing this for many years — in hospitals, nursing facilities and private homes.
