The staff and volunteers at Hospice of the Western Reserve are dedicated to enhancing the health and wellbeing of the communities in which we all live. Our services have grown and changed over nearly four decades to meet the requirements of a diverse 11 county area. As your needs change, our staff and services will respond.


Some of our comprehensive and compassionate services and programs are:

  • Palliative care for those who need help managing the symptoms and pain of a serious illness or multiple advanced health conditions
  • Hospice care for those with serious illness, for whom a cure is no longer an option
  • Pediatric palliative and hospice care for children and adults living with serious childhood illnesses
  • Perinatal care for expectant mothers and their infants
  • Specialized hospice care for those suffering from specific illnesses such as memory impairment illness and COPD
  • Skilled home care assistance for those in recovery and therapy programs
  • Emotional and spiritual support for families, loved ones, friends and colleagues of hospice patients
  • Art and music therapy for patients and families provides the opportunity to focus on the creative process as a means of expression, communication, relaxation, stimulation, pain management and connection.   
  • School crisis support for any public or private school that experiences an individual or group tragedy or violent act
  • Children's summer camps and adult workshops for the bereaved
  • Community art therapy programs for anyone struggling with loss through death
  • Access to free expert speakers on topics such as Grief in the Workplace and Caring for the Caregiver
  • Continuing education for the medical professional, student opportunities and lay education on caregiving and other topics of interest
