​Veterans Recognition Ceremony        

You're invited to a special ceremony for Veterans and their friends & families.

A highlight of the event will be a moving ceremony during which each veteran, with permission, will be individually recognized and thanked for his or her service to the country and presented with a commemorative lapel pin issued by the Ohio Hospice Veterans Partnership. More than 200 veterans and their family members are expected to attend. The ceremony publicly honors and thanks all veterans; no hospice connection is necessary.

Keynote speaker, Dr. Marcia J. Ballinger, President of Lorain County Community College. 

Bill Finn, President and CEO of Hospice of the Western Reserve, will share information about support available to veterans and their families through participation in the We Honor Veterans program, a pioneering campaign aimed at recognizing the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families.

The Veterans Recognition Ceremony is hosted by Lorain County Community College (LCCC) in collaboration with Hospice of the Western Reserve and our affiliate, HMC Hospice of Medina County.

​Hospice of the Western Reserve was the first hospice in Northeast Ohio to achieve "Partner Level Four" status – the highest level available – from thenational We Honor Veterans program. The Level Four designation is given only to hospice organizations deemed to offer the highest level of ongoing commitment to providing veterans with access to quality end-of-life care.
