Wish List Fund

What is it?

Our Wish List Fund fills an urgent need in our community by supporting hospice families with resources they may not have access to otherwise. Through the Wish List Fund, community members, companies and organizations make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their loved ones through donations.

How to Give Back

Gift cards to Giant Eagle, Walmart or Target are the best way to support our patients through our Wish List Fund. These resources will allow us to provide families with what they need for their unique situation – whether it is food and personal care items or part of a more specific need or event.

Our goal - even during these challenging times - is to continue making each day matter for our patients, including those who have or are children. Creating a memorable experience - even virtually - means so much to patients in our care. These memories are a final gift – a lasting legacy that may bring moments of joy and comfort.

Examples of ways we have utilized gift card donations in the past include:

  • Coordinating a celebration for a 7-year-old boy while his mother was in our care. The child’s mom was not able to shop for a gift or get decorations, but, with support from the Wish List Fund, our volunteers helped the little boy enjoy a day with his mother that created precious memories of their last birthday together.
  • Acknowledging a special occasion for the families we serve like a favorite dinner from a local restaurant for an anniversary celebration.
  • Practical needs that make such a difference in the lives of our patients like fresh towels, new bedding, and comfortable clothes.

You Can Make a Difference

Our mission is to support people on their end of life journey, and we greatly appreciate any assistance as we strive to help make our patients and their families feel cared for and loved. If you’d like to contribute, please contact Lori Scotese at 216.287-8193,lscotese@hospicewr.org
