Reception Desk Volunteer Needed

Have you been looking for a volunteer opportunity that gives you the chance to make a difference but doesn’t require too much of your personal time? Do you have even a few hours a month to give to help out at the reception desk at Hospice of the Western Reserve?

Reception desk volunteers are the first faces that a visitor sees when entering one of our facilities—and that friendly face can offer a very positive first impression. If you enjoy talking to people, don’t mind answering the occasional phone call and directing visitors to their destination, this could be the ideal volunteer opportunity for you!

We are in need of additional volunteers to help at one or both of our east side locations: Headquarters location: 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110 (hours of operation: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) or at David Simpson Hospice House: 300 East 185th St., Cleveland, OH 44119 (hours of operation: Monday- Sunday, 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.)

Volunteer education is provided as well as the required TB testing and background check. Four hours of volunteer education required to work at the Headquarters location and the full 16 hours of volunteer education is required to work at the David Simpson Hospice House (more education required here due to potential patient/caregiver contact).

Volunteers get to choose the days/hours that you want to volunteer. Very flexible scheduling. Feel free to bring a book or craft project to work on while you are at the desk to help pass the time!

Interested in getting started? Fill out the volunteer application online at www.hospicewr.org/volunteer Or call 216-255-9099 to have a paper application mailed to you or to have any questions answered.
