Looking for one-stop holiday shopping at bargain prices? One of the region’s most popular holiday shopping destinations, the Christmas Treasures Thrift Store in Medina, opens for the season on Monday, Oct. 30. The store remains open through Nov.25. Store hours are: Mondays – Friday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (closed on Sundays). The store is located in the former Party Station space, 1104 N. Court St., Medina.

The seasonal shop is operated by staff and volunteers from Hospice of Medina County, an affiliate of Hospice of the Western Reserve. All proceeds stay in Medina County benefiting programs for hospice patients and families living the local community.

The shop is a visual delight, with all the items anyone would need to convert a home into “Christmas Central” at a fraction of the cost of full retail. Shoppers are invited to browse through dozens of artificial trees and wreaths, and thousands of ornaments in dozens of styles. There are Santas, snowmen, lights, holiday books and clothing, Christmas china, holiday mugs, garlands, swags, bows, cookie tins, pillows… even holiday-themed bowls for the family pet!

It’s worth re-visiting the store a few different times during the holiday season to discover new treasures. The store has a back room full of surplus items to refresh the store. Donations continue to come in as the season progresses, so there’s always something new.

Hospice of Medina County also operates Life’s Treasures Thrift Shop, a separate, year-round thrift shop at 317 Court St., selling new and gently used furniture, lamps, small appliances, books and home décor.
