Hospice of Medina County’s Christmas Treasures Store to Open on Sept. 16

For the past 11 years, shopping at the Hospice of Medina County’s Christmas Treasures store has been a highlight of the Christmas season for many Medina County residents. Shoppers have gazed in awe at the beautifully displayed new and gently used Christmas trees and assorted seasonal items.

This year will be no exception, but it will be in a different format. Instead of a stand-alone store, Christmas Treasures will be housed inside the Life’s Treasures Thrift Store at 317 South Court Street. The large back room will be almost exclusively filled with Christmas items, while the rest of the store will hold Christmas trees and décor interspersed with regular sale items. Christmas store managers Heather Soliz and Angel Kiefer have promised that shoppers will not be disappointed with the array of items for sale. As in the past, every decorating style will be represented: country, modern, vintage, and traditional. A committee of volunteers have been sorting and pricing donations every Friday and Saturday since July 5.

They have amassed shelves full of Santas, nativity scenes, dishes and glassware, snowmen, ornaments, wreathes, books, greeting cards, pretty and ugly Christmas sweaters, home décor, and linens. When the store officially opens on Monday, September 16th, all of those items will be artfully displayed to provide a memorable shopping experience.

People who wish to donate items may do so until 3 p.m. every day except half-price days until December 2. New donations will be used to replenish displays weekly. No donations are accepted on the last Thursday of the month. All proceeds benefit Hospice of Medina County patients and families. Store hours will be the same as those of Life’s Treasures: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday – 10 am to 5 pm; Thursday - 10 am to 7 pm; Saturday: 10 am-4 pm.
