Dow Chemical Company Foundation Provides


The Dow Chemical Company Foundation has awarded a $1,000 grant to the Ashtabula Office of Hospice of the Western Reserve in support of the hospice concept of care as an important part of the health care delivery system in the local community. The grant is part of The Dow Chemical Company Foundation’s support to communities where employees and retirees live. The grant is made in recognition of the value of hospice, and to honor hospice volunteers for their special contributions.

Ugly Sweater Party for a Beautiful Cause



This quote guides Holly Craider, PhD, in both her personal and professional lives. Dean of Access and Completion and Adjunct Faculty of Speech Communication at Cuyahoga Community College, Holly is also one of Hospice of the Western Reserve’s biggest ambassadors. Serving as the Family and Friends Chair for Walk to Remember 2016, Holly also volunteers at the David Simpson Hospice House and supports various initiatives throughout the year.

Eleonore Rocks: A Celebration of Life


A very special event was held in the Great Room of Ames Family Hospice House recently.  It was not just the dedication of 10 custom-built rocking chairs. It was also a family reunion, a celebration of life and love, and a way for a hospice family to say, “thank you.” The rocking chairs were made especially for Hospice of the Western Reserve and Hospice of Medina County so that babies and young children can be comforted, cuddled and rocked.

$10,000 UPS Grant Will Help With Green Initiatives


A generous donation from UPS will help Hospice of the Western Reserve continue to advance environmental sustainability throughout the agency, including the creation of a compost system at headquarters and replacing trees that were removed at Ames Family Hospice House during construction.
