94-Year-Old World War II WAVE Honored on Birthday for Military Service


​South Euclid resident Arlene Perry received a very special honor on her 94th birthday. Mrs. Perry, who served with the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES) during World War II, was honored for her service as 20 members of her extended family gathered to celebrate her.

Recommendation from St. John School Students Brings Comfort to Patients with Advanced Dementia


Students at St. John’s School in Ashtabula have presented Hospice of the Western Reserve with a $400 grant from The Ashtabula Foundation through their participation in the foundation’s Youth Philanthropy program. The program cultivates an interest in philanthropy by teaching young people the value of giving back to their community through support of charitable organizations.

Dr. Kevin Dieter Earns National Award from American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine


​Hospice of the Western Reserve physician Dr. Kevin Dieter of Sagamore Hills is the recipient of the 2019 Josefina B. Magno Distinguished Hospice Physician Award from the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM). He received the award at the AAHPM's Annual Conference in Orlando recently. Dr. Dieter is associate medical director at Hospice of the Western Reserve and directs the medical care provided at the nonprofit agency’s David Simpson Hospice House on E. 185th St. in Cleveland. He is also the physician for the team that delivers hospice care in the homes of patients in Lake, Geauga and portions of eastern Cuyahoga County.
