Hospice of the Western Reserve has implemented an end-of-life doula program to provide enhanced support to patients and their families in the final phase of life. The innovative program - provided exclusively by specially trained volunteers - complements the care provided by the transdisciplinary hospice clinical care team.

Hospice of the Western Reserve President and CEO Honored with Outstanding Achievement Award


Bill Finn, President and CEO of Hospice of the Western Reserve and its parent organization, Western Reserve Care Solutions, was recently honored with an Outstanding Achievement Award from the State University of New York at Fredonia’s Alumni Association. Nominated by Alumni Board President Dr. Greg Gibbs, Finn is one of two recipients, along with the Honorable William Kemsey Taylor, New York State Supreme Court Judge.

Nancy Washko Named Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing Assistant of the Year


Hospice Nursing Assistant Nancy Washko has been named Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing Assistant of the Year by the Hospice and Palliative Care Credentialing Center, the organization that provides specialty certification to 15,500 healthcare professionals nationwide. Nancy joined Hospice of the Western Reserve (HWR) in 2014.
