Veterans Invited to Gather Online Sept. 16 for Conversation and Camaraderie


Veteran-to-veteran cafés are small social gatherings that allow the community’s veterans to connect, make  new friends, swap stories or simply enjoy the camaraderie of shared military experiences. Prior to the pandemic, most veterans cafés were held in libraries, coffee shops or other public gathering places.

Avon City Leaders Attend Dementia Friends Educational Program


Sally Tomko, RN BSN, Provider Relations Manager at Hospice of the Western Reserve, recently led a one-hour Dementia Friends informational session at the City of Avon Administration Offices, 36080 Detroit Rd. Tomko is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and one of several trained “Dementia Friends Champions” at HWR who provide the free community educational sessions.
