We're partnering with Praxis Fiber Workshop and Hannah Gibbons-Nottingham Elementary School to create three new gardens on property at our Headquarters.

May 26 Veterans Honor Run in Avon Lake to Benefit Valor Home and Nine Line Foundation


​Join us in Avon Lake on Sunday, May 26, for the 7th annual Veterans Honor Run presented by Hospice of the Western Reserve. Participants and their families and friends are invited to wear their best red, white, and blue to show their support! This year’ s event benefits Valor Home in Lorain and the Nine Line Foundation. Valor Home is a transitional housing program for homeless male veterans. The Nine Line Foundation is a national charity dedicated to meeting the financial and specialized needs of severely injured soldiers and their families.

Three Generations Walk to Celebrate Life


Hospice of the Western Reserve’s Walk to Remember has become an important and meaningful day to our family – Team Angels.  This year marks Team Angels’ second annual walk in memory of Frank and Marie Alder – our beloved parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.  Three generations walk in their memory.

A Child, a Lion and a Lasting Memory


This is the story of a little nine-year-old boy who was living with a medical condition no child should ever have to endure: an inoperable brain tumor. Although it's a story that is difficult for most of us to think about, it is also a story about love, hope and even incredible moments of joy in the midst of terminal illness. It's about parents who found a way to support their child and spend quality time with him in his own home. Most of all, it's a story about allowing a little boy's dream to come true.

A Legacy of 36 Years and Counting

​William Springer is more than the longest-serving member of Hospice of the Western Reserve’s board of directors. He is a part of the agency’s fabric and history. A longtime resident of Madison, Ohio, his interest was originally piqued on the golf course. “The director’s husband mentioned they were looking for a board member with business background and expertise,”
he says. As a career business operations and supply chain management executive for Perfection Corporation (now owned by Honeywell), he knew he could help.
