$1.5 Million in Parker Hannifin Connected Gifts Boost HWR’s Quality of Life Campaign

CLEVELAND, OH — Hospice of the Western Reserve (HWR) has announced three leadership gifts totaling $1.5 million to support its Quality of Life capital campaign, all tied to individuals and organizations connected to Parker Hannifin Corporation. The contributions—from the Parker Foundation, William “Skip” and Stephanie Bowman, and Thomas “Tom” and Janeen “Jan” Williams—have helped accelerate progress on HWR’s new Hospice Care & Community Center, expected to open in 2026.

The Parker Foundation’s $500,000 gift continues the company’s more than 30-year tradition of supporting Hospice of the Western Reserve and underscores Parker’s longstanding commitment to the Greater Cleveland community.

Skip Bowman—chair of HWR’s Board of Directors—and his wife, Stephanie, made a personal gift in addition to their leadership of the campaign. Bowman retired from Parker in December 2023 after a distinguished 40-year career and now co-chairs the Quality of Life Campaign.

“Being involved with a project that will positively impact not only patients and their families, but also the broader community is what drew us to the Quality of Life campaign,” Bowman said. “We knew this would be a long journey, but we were determined to do everything we could to accelerate the project. We strongly believe the new facility will make a meaningful difference in people’s lives during their most challenging times.”

Tom and Jan Williams also contributed to the campaign. Tom Williams served as Parker’s CEO from 2015 to 2022 and Chairman of the Board from 2016 to 2023.

“Our family is honored to support the Quality of Life campaign,” said Williams. “The values that define Parker—service, compassion and community—are deeply reflected in the mission of Hospice of the Western Reserve. We’re proud to be part of this effort to ensure patients and families have the care, comfort and dignity they deserve.”

Bill Finn, President and CEO of Hospice of the Western Reserve, said that these three transformational gifts reflect the leadership and generosity that continue to propel the Quality of Life campaign forward.

“We are deeply grateful to Parker Hannifin and to Skip and Stephanie Bowman and Tom and Jan Williams for their commitment to compassionate care,” Finn said. “Their support will help ensure that this new facility brings comfort, dignity and peace of mind to families when they need it most.”

With these contributions, the Quality of Life capital campaign has now raised $20.2 million toward its $25 million goal. This milestone has been made possible thanks to the leadership and generosity of donors like Parker Hannifin, Skip and Stephanie Bowman, and Tom and Jan Williams.

The new Hospice Care & Community Center will feature 32 private patient rooms—each with a view of Lake Erie—enhanced family spaces, and advanced medical technology to meet complex care needs.
