Hospice of the Western Reserve Grief Camps

Looking for a summer camp to support a grieving child? 

Consider our  bereavement day camps for children who have experienced a loved one’s death. Campers will share stories, laugh together, shed some tears and celebrate the life of their special person.


Red Oak 

Red Oak Camp

9057 Kirtland Chardon Road, Willoughby, Ohio


August 5 - 7, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.


$25 registration per camper 


A three-day bereavement day camp for children ages 6-13 who have experienced the death of a loved one. 


Transportation is available from our Lakeshore campus. 

Riding Through Grief

Fieldstone Farm

16497 Snyder Road, Chagrin Falls, Ohio


9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

July 21 - 25;  ages 9 - 15


$75 registration per camper


This camp is offered in collaboration with Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center and is for children and teens who have experienced the death of a loved one. Through riding and working with horses, campers explore grief issues supported by trained counselors.

June 19 - 20, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. •  Ages 13 - 17

Camp Good Grief


June 24 - 26, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. 

Osborn Park @ Erie MetroParks

Camp Good Grief is a day camp for kids ages 6 to 13 who have experienced the death of a loved one. Led by experienced Stein Hospice bereavement staff and volunteers, Camp Good Grief provides a time for campers to come together to share stories, learn ways to cope, and celebrate the life of their special person.
